Anna Maria was admitted in Cyprus Bar Association in 2017 and she is practicing Law since then. She used to be a member of the Advisory Department of our firm since April 2019, and she specializes in Banking Law and Finance Law. She used to be a member of the team advising major banks and credit acquiring companies regarding debt restructuring, enforcement of securities, sale and acquisition of property and foreclosures. She also dealt with the portfolio management of cases proceeding to foreclosures.
She dealt with extensive legal due diligence of loans and/or credit facilities, out of court negotiations with debtors for settlement of their arrears and examined restructuring plans for debtors, attaining the optimal recovery plan. She has experience on strategy plans for debt recovery and reviewing of credit facilities and/or loans. She has also extensive experience on foreclosure procedures.
She was involved in various transactional projects for local and international clients. Also, she undertook various legal due diligence and legal audit procedures of corporate bodies and assisted clients to assess business proposals by identifying possible legal implications and/or insight into the company’s legal matters.
She provided comprehensive legal services to individuals and businesses engaged in the acquisition, construction, development, financing, leasing, ownership and management of immovable property as well as she represented clients at both residential and commercial real estate closings.
She has an additional experience in drafting and reviewing different kinds of Agreements, such as, sales purchase agreements, lease agreements, shares purchase agreements, option agreements, employment agreements, contribution agreements, non-disclosure agreements.
Anna Maria has also worked as a legal consultant at a financial advisory firm. She was involved inter alia, to providing services to regulated entities, licensing and services across various jurisdictions for payment institutions, electronic money & payment institutions, investment firms, investment funds, fin-tech entities, online gaming companies etc. She was involved with vast number of transactional projects for international and local clients and their transactional matters, such as, re-organisations, corporate restructurings, rights issues, acquisitions, equity raising transactions and reverse takeovers.
Earlier in her career, she gained experience in Arbitration, strong exposure in Banking Law Litigation, Civil and Commercial Litigation, Administration of Estates, Employment law and debt verification applications.
